🔵 HOW TO PREPARE AN ELECTRONIC PRESS KIT (EPK) FOR YOUR MUSIC

Why it Matters:
A press kit (Electronic Press Kit or EPK) is essential for booking gigs, securing press coverage, and pitching to labels or playlists. It’s your professional resume as an artist.

Step 1: Write a Short, Engaging Bio

  • Keep it concise (150-300 words).
  • Highlight:
    • Your style/genre.
    • Career milestones (awards, notable shows).
    • Unique traits (what sets you apart).

Step 2: Include High-Quality Photos

  • Add at least 2-3 promo shots (landscape and portrait).
  • Use hi-res, professional images that reflect your brand.

Step 3: Add Your Best Music (Streaming Links)

  • Choose 2-3 of your strongest songs.
  • Link to Spotify, Apple Music, or SoundCloud – no downloads necessary.

Step 4: List Press Quotes or Reviews

  • Include 1-3 short quotes from blogs, magazines, or journalists.
  • If no reviews yet, use fan testimonials or feedback from industry pros.

Step 5: Include Video Links

  • Add live performance or music video links (YouTube/Vimeo).
  • Pick videos that showcase your stage presence and sound quality.

Step 6: Contact Information

  • Clearly list:
    • Your name/band name
    • Booking email
    • Social media links
    • Website (if available)

Step 7: Export and Share

  • Compile everything into a PDF or dedicated webpage.
  • Keep the design clean, simple, and easy to navigate.

Pro Tip:
Update your press kit every 6 months to reflect new releases, tours, or milestones.
